Saint's Days

Welcome back! Today I am going to speak about an old game, but first I would like to make an announcement. Since today is a special day in the world, I am going to say "Happy Birthday!" to everyone named Mike, Michael, Gabriel, Gabriela and/or Michaela, since it's the Archangels Michael and Gabriel's day.
Now, back to our job. Many of you have probably seen the movie Lion King, so everyone knows about Simba, the lion. After the movie appeared, a company named Virgin Interactive wanted to make a game based on the movie. Guess what? It really appeared and it was originally for MS-DOS. After that, the game was launched for Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, Gameboy and Game Gear consoles. In this game, you control (most of the time) Simba. In bonus levels you control Pumbaa and Timon. The game is relatively short, with a very small number of missions. It is, however, very entertaining. In the first missions you control cub Simba, which can jump, roll and roar at the enemy in order to change his position. The main technique of attacking is jumping on the enemy, which is, sometimes, not so useful. However, you can roll in order to dodge the attacks. In the last missions, Simba grows up, giving him the ability to claw and maul the enemy. His roar is stronger and can be used to tire the enemy. At this time, however, harms no one if you jump on them. You cannot roll either.

Now, how about it? It does not have great graphics. Still, I think it is a great game, but I want you to decide:

Enough for today. If you want me to talk about anything else, just subscribe, since I am out of ideas :P. Until next time, Have a nice day!

Creepy... WHAT?

Happy Halloween everybody! As promised, I will tell you about two creepy games. As for myself, I don't quite appreciate the horror games, but it fits with the Hallow's End, so let's begin!
Probably most of you have played games like "Slender-Man - Six Pages", or "Slender-Man - Sanatorium" on smartphones. It is okay, I am not going to make a review about how bad can the smartphones be. Thus, does anyone know how this "Slender-Man(ia)" appeared? If you don't, let me tell you. Slender is an urban legend, based on a purely fictional character, that wears a black suit, is very tall and slim, it has eight tentacles and it is said that it had no face. However, nobody knows because the ones that said "I saw him!" are either liars, either dead, either brain-damaged. It is also said about Slender that follows kids that run away from home and, in order to punish them, he rips their face off their head. A strange and weird story, but it is just a legend, so you can either believe, either not. Anyways, if you hadn't played this game, it is a first-person shooter-like game where you try to collect a number of pages in different environments. Even so, except for the "Sanatorium" environment, the others are not scary at all. Also, if you want a vision of this game, you can find it here:
 Slender-Man: Six Pages (I think)

As promised I will tell you about another creepy game, which you wouldn't even think about. I bet there are 0% people that haven't heard about Pokémon. Yes, Pokémon!!! One of the creepiest games ever! And before you would say: "But you cannot die in this game!", I will tell you that it is wrong. YOU can really die in AND out of the game. Or at least you could in the first version.
Yes, sir! In the first version that appeared only in Japan, you had a very strange story: you had to get to climb up to the top of Lavender Town Pokémon Tower. I know, nothing scary at all. But, since the Japanese were playing with headphones, the children between 10 and 15 years committed suicide! I know, it is crazy, but it's true! In Lavender Town, the background music had very high, almost hypnotic frequencies, which were damaging the human brain. Also, instead of a Marowak (if you play Pokémon Fire Red - the final boss of Lavender Town Tower) it was a zombie-type creature, what remained from Marowak (most probably), called Buried Alive. which, no matter if you win or lose, it eats you and erases your save data. Due to this cause, Game Freak (Pokémon creators) had to pay a huge bill and lots of games were destroyed. Anyways, I'll show you how the game would end, but first check this out - the problem that scientists called LTS (Lavender Town Syndrome)- :

http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Lavender_Town_Syndrome

There is another guy that could explain better the LTS - he is called J-Wittz, which has a channel on YouTube. And, as I told earlier, this is how you encounter this beast. First, a tombstone would appear that has seen you. Then, the following are said: "You're... here... I'm trapped... And I'm lonely... So very lonely... Won't you join me?" Then, the battle begins. Also, on this floor, the music is played at a very low pitch, hard to hear. This one meant that you should be half-hypnotized. Your brain now tries to figure out how the end of the battle would be (is influenced by the battle). However, since you can't win, no matter what, there was a trick: if you win, the brain would be okay, but if you lose, the following words were said: "Finally... Raw meat...". After this, the game freezes and shows the player how it is being devoured by Buried Alive. This also started the Lavender Town Creepypasta (short horror stories). And, if you have guts, check the following link -it's a hack with a battle between a player and Buried Alive-

Now, before that, another advice: DO NOT OPEN THE VIDEO IF YOU CAN'T STAND HORROR IMAGES (even pixelated) OR IF YOU HAVE HEART PROBLEMS! THERE IS A SCREAMER AT THE END OF THE VIDEO, WHICH SHOWS HOW THE PLAYER IS DEVOURED!!! THIS IS NOT A JOKE!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlGIOehnUNc

Now, before we could end, I feel really sorry for the ones that really died while playing this game. Even if I did not know anyone of them, they should rest in peace.

So, I hope you liked the today's article. If you want more information about Lavender Town, you could watch J-Wittz's video - Lavender Town Myths. So, until next time, I wish you a Happy Halloween!

Lost and Forgotten

Hi there! Today I will talk about a game which, well, is awesome, yet not known by most people. I'm quite sure everyone heard about Blizzard Entertainment, mostly from games like WarCraft, StarCraft and Diablo. But I am also sure that very few people know the games that have preceded the mentioned title. Most probably, the series of the game "The Lost Vikings" were not so known by most people. If you haven't heard about this title, let me tell you how the story goes: three Vikings, each of them with different abilities are captured by an orc (character of Warcraft) called Tomator. They manage to escape by passing through a portal, which takes them to different eras of the world (Stone Age, Ancient Egypt, a factory) so that they could get back on Tomator's ship to return in their time.
In the second game, they get additional power-ups, (the shield-man can get smaller; the weaponmaster gets a bionic arm instead of a bow and the one that jumps can breath underwater and gets a turbo boost while in air. Also, two new characters appear: a werewolf that can jump, climb walls and claw the enemies and a dragon, which can fly (for a short period), glide and shoot fireballs. The gameplay is addictive, since in the second game you change through characters after you obtain the dragon. Also, another fun fact: in World of WarCraft, the three Vikings end up in a place called Swamp of Sorrows. The player can talk to them, but they will not interact with him. Also, in the second game, one of the Vikings tell the others that he was in "Swamp of Sorrows. You should have been there, it were a lot of green-skin creatures with fangs and weird hair!". He was referring to the orcs. As for myself, I don't want to make you believe it is an amazing game that needs to be played and if you don't play it you don't have reasons to live. It's just, I'll let you decide:

 The Lost Vikings I

 The Lost Vikings II

To be fair, it doesn't have such amazing graphics, since it was made in 1997. The gameplay hasn't changed at all in both games. Still, if you want better graphics, you shall try the "Norse by Norsewest - Return of the Lost Vikings" the same game like The Lost Vikings 2, but it is animated (you see how characters talk), but maybe a little too animated. Fang, the werewolf looks more like a Chihuahua than a wild beast! Though, it's graphics are better and you can hear the characters talk.

I hope you liked the review. Remember, if you want to make a review of a game, just subscribe and I will do it as fast as I can. Also, since the Hallow's End (or Halloween for the ones that are not playing Wow) is coming, I have an idea of making a review about a creepy game (most probably Slender-Man) and yet a surprise game that no one would ever think about. So until next time, have a nice day!

The (Im)Mortals

Welcome back! Today I'm going to talk about another successful game series, which I think is very improbable that you hadn't heard of. Now, more or less, everyone heard about Mortal Kombat:  the fighting-style arcade game made by Midway Entertainment (now NetherRealm Studios) that, in 1992 obtained a lot of fans, due to its unseen (at that time) gameplay. By far, the most interesting title of this series was the "Mortal Kombat Trilogy" (which was an expansion-like for Mortal Kombat III and the Ultimate Mortal Kombat). It had almost all characters and, even in 2d, it was way more... playable than today's 3d games (Even from this series!).
Also, another fun thing that made me laugh in the beginning (and still does) was that in MK3, when you would uppercut the enemy, Ed Boon, the creator of this game would appear occasionally from the bottom corner, yelling "Toasty!". Also, at different fatalities, he would occasionally say other things (at Sub-Zero's freezing fatality - "Frosty!"; at Scorpion's firespit fatality - "Crispy!")
Even so, the new titles were not so interesting, the graphics were better, but the story, the gameplay and the very easy difficulty (compared to the first three titles of the series) made me change my mind about the "Post-trilogy" games.
Now, as always, I want you to watch and see the evolution of Mortal Kombat:

 Mortal Kombat 1

      Mortal Kombat 2

 Mortal Kombat 3

 Mortal Kombat 4

 Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance

 Mortal Kombat Armageddon

 Mortal Kombat 2012

 Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe

Also, if you want to find out more of this game, you can always search for it on YouTube. Also, there may be some titles I didn't spoke about (Mortal Kombat Deception, for example) because they may be very similar to other titles that preceeded them. This is all for today. Remember, if you want to promote a game on this site, just leave a comment. In the meantime, have a nice day!

For the "Old-timers"

Welcome back! Today I am going to tell you about a game which the "old-timers" love. It is one game that marked my life. The series of Jazz Jackrabbit were a great hit. Now, no one can tell me that never heard of Jazz, the hyperactive Rambo dressed-like rabbit. Since the very first title, called "Jazz Jackrabbit" everyone understood Jazz's adventure against Craig. But after its expected sequel, Jazz teams up with his more... active brother, Spaz, and after the expansion "Jazz Jackrabbit 2 - The Secret Files" with their sister, Lori as well. Now, as I heard, there came out another title (Jazz Jackrabbit 3). I have to say, I haven't played this one, so I won't talk about it right now. Thus, the first two titles were great ones, with addictive gameplay and awesome graphics (especially the background from the haunted house) even for our days. I'm not going to talk anymore, I'll just let you see the evolution of this game.

Enough for today. If you have any requests for games you would like to let others know, just leave a comment. Until next time, have a nice day!

Another one which is known, yet forgotten

Welcome back! Today I'm going to tell you about a game that most of you probably know. Now, everyone heard about the Grand Theft Auto series (also known as GTA).
But where did this all began?
Well, everything started in October 1997, when the brothers Dan and Sam Houser got the idea to develop an open world role-playing game. In that moment, the GTA series appeared.
Each game in this series allows players to take on the role of a criminal or a wannabe in the big city, typically an individual who plans to rise through the ranks of organized crime through the course of the game. The player is given various missions by kingpins and major idols in the city underworld which must be completed to progress through the storyline. Assassinations and other violent crimes are featured regularly. Occasionally taxi driving, firefighting, street racing, bus driving, or learning to fly helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft are also involved.
In later titles, notably those released after Grand Theft Auto 2, the player is given a more developed storyline in which he is forced to overcome an unfortunate event (e.g., being betrayed and left for dead), which serves as motivation for the character to advance up the criminal ladder and ultimately leads to the triumph of the character by the end of the storyline. The Grand Theft Auto series belongs to a genre of free-roaming role-playing video games called open world games, and grants a large amount of freedom to the player.
So far, many titles appeared and gave the players a pleasure they won't be able to forget. They will, however, realize that the new games of this series will break the old story. Earlier, I saw a review of GTA V, and I have to say, the characters are a little too overpowered. I mean, since the games of Max Payne came with the idea of time slowing, Rockstar Games adopted it as well which is, well, not so good. It is, though, something new for the series, so I'm not going to talk about it at this moment, but at the review of Max Payne (if it will be a review for that :D)

Anyways, if you do truly want to view this game from the beginning until the last titles, you could watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3eAuh5G0wY

Enough for today. Until next time, I wish you a good day.

Hello! Welcome to this new blog!

Hi there! Welcome to my blog. I want to (re-)promote some games that (as I saw) are not so wanted anymore. In this way, I hope that everyone will remember some of the best games that were created in the past. So, without any further ado, let's begin, shall we?

First of all, I want to tell you about a game called Heroes of Might and Magic. When it appeared, it made itself a huge popularity. But what about today? Nowadays, as I found out, the games are, let's say, not so looked for if they don't have cool graphics. I have to admit it: its graphics are not so good, and you can see from the first mission that it is a veeeeeery animated game. For that time, it was awesome, and I think it is awesome as well. How about you? I have posted some photos of the evolution of Heroes along the years. Just watch:
Heroes I

Heroes II

Heroes III

Heroes IV

Heroes V

Heroes VI
Also, if you want another view of this game, watch these:

Also, if you got games you want me to promote, just tell me in the comments section. Until next time, have a nice day!
